As early as in the year 322 B.C., Roman Emperor Augustus used to spend his holidays on the Island of Ischia, where he immediately appreciated the beneficial properties of the thermal water from the local springs and had the idea to enhance them in an even more precious combination with the marvellous perfumes of Capri.
